Perhaps the most important attribute of an entrepreneur is his capacity to sacrifice for a noble wealth-creating and value-adding cause. The capacity to sacrifice is not a one deal thing. Implicit in sacrifice is its long-term and consistent and unconditional nature. Given this, we can see that the right attributes are not enough. What is needed is the consistent application of these attributes. Needless to say, this is the reason why entrepreneurship is a way of life. We Filipinos have a very beautiful and encompassing word for sacrifice and ownership. The word is “MALASAKIT” or “PAGMAMALASAKIT”.
